GORKHA, Nov 24: Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives by a huge margin of votes from Gorkha- 2. He won with 26,103 votes.

His closest rival Kabindra Burlakoti of Rastriya Swatantra Party got 12,637 votes. CPN-UML's Abdus Miya got 7,393 votes. The result of the election has not been officially released yet.
A total of 54,031 votes were cast in Gorkha-2. Of them, 3,124 votes were declared invalid.
