KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a temporary power outage in several areas of Kathmandu today.
In a public notice, the NEA said electricity supply will be cut under the Panipokhari Feeder and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Feeder areas from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

According to the NEA, power supply will be disrupted in Lazimpat, Panipokhari, Maharajgunj, and areas surrounding TUTH. Electricity will also be cut in and around the President’s Office, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, and Nepal Police Hospital, the Maharajgunj Distribution Centre said.
The outage is being carried out to connect underground cables as part of the Kathmandu Valley Central and Northern Distribution System Strengthening Project, which is currently upgrading the distribution system by placing cables underground.
The NEA said the power supply will be restored earlier than scheduled if the work is completed ahead of time.
