MOSCOW, July 22: Ukrainian drones hit warehouses for Russia's biggest online retailer on Wednesday, authorities said, wounding eight people in the latest strikes since deadly weekend attacks on the company.
Kyiv has intensified its strikes on Russian territory in recent months, disrupting the lives of ordinary Russians -- strikes it calls retribution for more than four years of bombardments of Ukraine.
Tatiana Kim, CEO for e-commerce giant Wildberries, said the company's logistic centres in the southern cities of Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk had been evacuated.
Russian, Ukrainian strikes kill five
"A warehouse complex has caught fire following a drone attack on the outskirts of Nevinnomyssk," Vladimir Vladimirov, governor of Stavropol Krai posted on Russia's state-run Max platform.
He said five people received medical treatment.
Vladimirov had said earlier that air defence forces were working to intercept "an attack by enemy drones targeting the industrial zone of Nevinnomyssk".
The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters said later that three more people were wounded when drone debris fell on the warehouse in Krasnodar.
It was the latest attack since Ukraine struck two key Wildberries warehouses on Saturday, killing eight night-shift workers and sparking fires that all but destroyed facilities.
