The Kalimati vegetable market, already known for its variety of fresh produce, has witnessed a sharp increase in watermelon sales, which has become the go-to fruit for cooling off during the hot days.

Fruit stalls inside the market are now selling up to 1,000 kilograms of watermelon daily, say traders. The refreshing, hydrating fruit has become particularly popular with the rising summer temperatures, offering a respite from the intense heat.
