KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Nearly 380,000 new taxpayers were added in the first six months of the current Fiscal Year (FY), according to data released by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
From mid-July (Shrawan) to mid-January (Poush), a total of 379,212 taxpayers were registered nationwide. Of them, 55,242 were registered under business PAN, 304,890 under individual PAN, 871 under W-PAN, 13,257 under VAT, and 4,952 under excise duty.

With the latest additions, the total number of PAN-registered taxpayers has reached 7,360,353, while 364,992 taxpayers are registered under VAT and 129,949 under excise duty.
