KATHMANDU, March 11: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoCSCP) has fined two firms and issued warnings to 11 others during a market monitoring drive.
According to the DoCSCP, 13 firms were inspected in a single day as part of its regular market surveillance.

During the inspection, irregularities were found in two firms. The DoCSCP fined Sindhu Fruits and Fresh Center in Madhyapur Thimi Rs 20,000 and Panchakanya Tridev Dairy Shop in New Baneshwor Rs 10,000 under Section 38 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2018.
The DoCSCP also issued corrective instructions to 11 other firms.
It said market inspections are conducted regularly with the participation of local stakeholders and consumer rights activists to ensure fair trade and consumer protection.
