NEW YORK, July 15: The Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of the Nepali American Business and Investment Summit (NABIS) 2026, a three-day international business summit that, according to the Chamber, aims to strengthen economic cooperation, trade, investment, innovation and entrepreneurship between Nepal and the United States.
According to a press release issued by the Chamber, the summit will be held from September 25 to 27, 2026, at the New York JFK Marriott under the theme "Connecting Capital, Ideas & Opportunities.” The Chamber said the event will bring together government leaders, business executives, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and members of the global Nepali diaspora to promote cross-border collaboration and long-term economic partnerships.
Speaking at the launch event, Pradip Shrestha, president of the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, said NABIS is intended to serve as a platform for connecting people, ideas and investment opportunities between Nepal and the United States.
"NABIS is more than a conference. It is a platform to connect ideas, capital and people who are committed to building stronger economic ties between Nepal and the United States," Shrestha said.
Business ideas matter
According to the Chamber, the summit will focus on sectors including tourism, hydropower, information technology, agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing and startups. It also said the event seeks to leverage the expertise, capital and global networks of the Nepali diaspora in the United States to promote investment and business collaboration.
The Chamber said the summit will also provide Nepali-owned businesses across the United States with opportunities to network, exchange experiences, build strategic partnerships and explore business expansion.
According to the press release, NABIS 2026 will feature discussions on Nepal's investment opportunities, international trade and capital partnerships, technology and artificial intelligence, and strategies for scaling businesses from local to global markets.
The three-day event is also expected to include keynote speeches, government and business leadership discussions, a startup showcase, investor networking sessions, business matchmaking programs, strategic partnership meetings, and a gala dinner and recognition program, the Chamber said.
The Chamber said it has launched the official NABIS 2026 website and opened registration for participants. Applications have also been opened for startups and entrepreneurs interested in participating in the Startup Showcase and Product Launch, while sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are also available.
According to the Chamber, the summit has been scheduled to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week NYC, allowing participants to engage with global policymakers, investors and business leaders.
The event is being organized by the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Consulate General of Nepal in New York, while Khasokhas is serving as the media partner, according to the press release.
The Chamber said additional details, including confirmed speakers, strategic partners, registration updates and the full summit agenda, will be announced in the coming weeks.
