KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the passing of singer and actor Prashant Tamang. In a condolence letter sent to Prashant’s wife, Martha Aley, PM Modi described his death as an irreplaceable loss.
Praising Prashant’s singing and acting talents, Modi wrote in the letter: “Through his soulful singing and remarkable acting, Prashant Tamang created a unique place for himself in the world of entertainment. A symbol of determination and immense talent, he won the hearts of millions across the country. Prashant Tamang was an inspiration to countless people.”

Prime Minister Modi noted that Prashant’s life journey would inspire young people to believe in their dreams and work hard. “May the memories of the precious moments spent with him provide comfort to the family. May his family members and countless fans find strength and patience to endure this tragic loss,” the letter read.
Prashant, who passed away in Delhi on Sunday due to a cardiac arrest, is being cremated today, Tuesday, in his native Darjeeling, according to religious customs.
