KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Ncell Foundation has announced that it will distribute a total of 2,428 educational kits to students in government and community-run schools across Nepal, following its commitment during the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, Ncell Foundation said in a press release.
The distribution is part of Ncell Foundation’s ongoing “4s for 4” social initiative, which pledges four educational kits for every four hits during the cricket season. Launched last year, the initiative aims to connect cricket boundaries with classroom support, translating sporting excitement into tangible educational benefits for underserved students, the press release stated.
During NPL Season 2, 99 players hit a total of 607 boundaries, securing the distribution of 2,428 kits. Adam Rossington of Pokhara Avengers contributed the highest number with 31 fours, ensuring 124 kits for students. D’Arcy Short of Lumbini Lions hit 26 boundaries, providing 104 kits, while Binod Bhandari of Sudurpaschim Royals contributed 92 kits through 23 boundaries.

The press release further stated that the educational kits will include essential learning materials such as school bags, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and other stationery items to support students’ daily learning needs.
“We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations and gratitude to all the players who contributed to this meaningful social initiative. Their performances not only strengthened their teams on the field but also expanded support for education beyond the boundary lines,” the press release quoted Bishakha Laxmi Khadka, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Director at Ncell as saying.
The distribution will be coordinated with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), local authorities, and implementing partner Karmayog Foundation to ensure that the kits reach the intended beneficiaries.
Ncell Foundation, which was also a ‘Powered By’ partner of NPL Season 2, provided cash prizes of Rs 25,000 for players hitting the maximum number of fours in each match. Rossington received an additional Rs 200,000 for hitting the highest number of fours across the season.
According to the press release, Ncell Foundation had pledged 2,612 educational kits from 653 boundaries during the first NPL season last year. In total, over 9,000 kits have been distributed nationwide through this initiative, benefiting thousands of students.
The Ncell Foundation said it continues to turn cricket enthusiasm into lasting educational impact, making every four hit a step toward a more educated Nepal.
