KATHMANDU, June 1: A Nepali delegation participating in a 15-day International Women’s Leadership and Capacity Development Programme organized by China Women’s University and a related agency of the Government of China visited the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
On the fourth day of the programme, the delegation held discussions with Acting Ambassador Roshan Khanal on Nepal–China trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and prospects for expanding economic cooperation.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the development of small, medium and large industries, ways to attract foreign investment, and expanding bilateral cooperation. This was shared by Shova Gyawali, former president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal and founder of Nepal Republic Media, who is part of the delegation.

Acting Ambassador Khanal informed the delegation that a special programme aimed at attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Nepal is scheduled to be held in July in Nepal, and invited Nepali entrepreneurs and participants to take part.
The programme includes training on China’s development model, use of science and technology, digital leadership, administrative reforms, and economic transformation. Around 50 participants from different countries, including Ghimire from Nepal, are taking part in the programme.
Participants said the programme aims to understand China’s development experience through science, technology and policy reforms, and to exchange experiences among representatives from different countries. After the training sessions, the delegation is scheduled to visit other cities in China for study tours.
During the meeting, Acting Ambassador Khanal also highlighted efforts by the embassy to strengthen Nepal–China economic cooperation and discussed the potential expansion of the Chinese market for Nepali products, particularly tea, coffee, and other exportable goods.
