Nepali film ‘Kushti’ set for release on September 25

Director Yonjan described the film as a romantic comedy-drama that explores the emotional journey of a couple who cannot live together yet cannot stay apart.

KATHMANDU: Nepali film Kushti, directed and produced by Anil Yonjan, is set to release on September 25.



Shot in and around Kathmandu, the release date was finalized in consultation with distributors and exhibitors, according to director Yonjan. He described the film as a romantic comedy-drama that explores the emotional journey of a couple who cannot live together yet cannot stay apart.

The film stars Dhiraj Magar and Miruna Magar in lead roles, alongside Pushkar Gurung, Loonibha Tuladhar, Bholaraj Sapkota, Deekila Sherpa, Rabindra Jha, Rajaram Poudyal, Kiran KC, Suryaman Limbu, Arbin Gurung, Rajani Gurung and Subarna Thapa.


Deekila Sherpa, who recently won the ‘Miss Multimedia’ title at Miss India 2026 and secured a place in the top 15, makes her Nepali film debut with Kusti. She had earlier won the Miss Teen Fashion Icon title in 2021 and gained recognition through the Indian reality show Splitsvilla Season 5.


The production team said talks are in the final stage to secure international distribution rights, with plans to release the film overseas soon.
