KATHMANDU, July 21: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased 7.25 points, marking the gains for the sixth consecutive trading day.
With the increment, the NEPSE index climbed to 2,726.49 points, the highest value in the past one and a half months. In the past two days, the index jumped over 120 points.
On Tuesday trade, the prices of 103 companies increased, 162 decreased, and 12 remained stable. The overall index surged the day’s high at 2,753.81 points within the first two hours, while it plunged to as low as 2,704.99 points in the last 34 minutes.

Along with the index, the daily turnover amount also increased, recording Rs 6.67 billion from Rs 5.15 billion. The trade volume inclined 29.5 percent.
There was a mixed reaction in the group indices. The trading index increased by 2.88 percent, the highest of all. Mutual funds declined 0.71 percent.
The price of the newly listed company Everest Color increased by 15 percent. Kalanga Hydropower increased by 7.50 and Bottlers Nepal Balaju by 7.42. Similarly, Corporate Development Bank decreased by 6.54 percent, Bhujung Hydropower by 4.58, and Chirkhwa Hydropower by 4.44 percent.
The companies with the most transactions in terms of monetary amount were Ridi Power, Aankhukhola Hydropower, Reliance Spinning Mills, Himalayan Reinsurance and NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited.
