MAHOTTARI, July 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited drought-affected areas of the Terai-Madhesh region today to assess the situation firsthand.
Earlier this week, the government declared the entire Madhesh Province a disaster-affected area for a period of three months. The decision follows a prolonged dry spell during the monsoon season, which has severely disrupted paddy plantation for farmers in the region.
