Police recover 65 tolas of stolen gold after shootout

The police arrested Prem Chaudhary of Banke from Nagarjuna Municipality-6 last night after a shoot-out. A total of 65 tolas of gold was also recovered from his possession, said Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa.

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Gold and gold ornaments worth Rs 10.04 million stolen from the house of Rinji Lama of Boudha in Kathmandu on Tuesday have been recovered.



The police arrested Prem Chaudhary of Banke from Nagarjuna Municipality-6 last night after a shoot-out. A total of 65 tolas of gold was also recovered from his possession, said Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa.

According to him, the police were forced to open fire after he attacked the police with a khukuri. The accused has been shot in the leg and is currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center, Bir Hospital. 


One of the police personnel was also injured in the incident.
