Sharma said that if an MP’s performance evaluation is unsatisfactory, the party can recall them at any time. This provision is included in the statute passed through a special convention and emphasizes that MPs must fulfill their parliamentary responsibilities effectively and remain accountable.
The provision further states that MPs who act contrary to the party’s directives, violate established norms, or perform below expectations can be recalled regardless of timing.
Vice-Chair Sharma also said that the party will draft an implementation guideline for this provision, incorporating feedback from the MPs themselves, following approval and registration of the amended statute with the Election Commission.
