KATHMANDU, May 10: Police have arrested six individuals while they were allegedly engaged in gambling at four different casinos in Birgunj.
Acting on special intelligence, a joint team deployed from the District Police Office, Parsa, carried out the operation and detained five Indian nationals along with one Nepali citizen.

Those arrested include 26-year-old Ganesh Kumar, 38-year-old Sandeep Kumar, 31-year-old Suraj Prasad, 43-year-old Allah Yadav, and 36-year-old Omprakash Yadav from Bihar, India. The sixth person is a 36-year-old Nepali resident of Ward No. 32, Birgunj Metropolitan City, also named Omprakash Yadav.
Police said they recovered gambling materials including 500 denomination coins, Nepali currency worth Rs 555, Indian currency worth Rs 1,200, and two Redmi mobile phones.
Authorities have taken them into custody and further investigation and legal action are underway.
