KATHMANDU, July 7: Police have arrested two individuals accused of defrauding people by promising foreign employment opportunities in countries like Lithuania, Romania, and Serbia.
The arrested have been identified as Finchu Lama, 32, also known as Rohan, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 and originally from Umakunda Rural Municipality-6, Ramechhap, and Uttam Khadka, 29, of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-8, originally from Khandbari Municipality-3, Sankhuwasabha.

Lama is accused of collecting over Rs 18 million from 45 individuals with the promise of sending them to Lithuania and Romania, while Khadka allegedly took Rs 200,000 from one victim claiming to arrange employment in Serbia.
Based on complaints filed by the victims, Lama was arrested from Kathmandu-10 on Friday and Khadka from Kageshwari Manohara-8 on Sunday by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku.
Police have handed them over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal action.
