KATHMANDU, May 4: The CPN-UML has decided to fully transition its party membership management into a digital system, aiming to make the process more transparent, organized and efficient.

The issue was discussed in detail during a demonstration meeting on membership management held at the party’s central office, with the participation of senior leaders including the vice-chairperson, general secretary, provincial leaders and representatives from sister organizations.

Addressing the meeting, Vice-chairperson Bishnu Paudel said the online renewal campaign is an important step toward improving discipline and transparency within the party.

Organizational Department coordinator and central secretary Bhanubhakta Dhakal said the objective is to establish a fully digital and unified record system across all levels of the party structure.

According to the organizational department, all membership processes will now be conducted online and implemented simultaneously across all seven provinces, districts, and 753 local levels. Physical facilitation will still be provided at the local level to assist members with registration and renewal.

The system will also compile detailed biodata of party members and leaders from the central committee down to the ward level.

The meeting also discussed a proposal to set the end of Jestha (mid-June) as the deadline for membership renewal.

Dhakal further stated that members who fail to renew within the stipulated timeframe will be automatically relieved of their responsibilities within the party committees.
