PALPA, Feb 8: Five people died and 17 were injured in two road accidents in Palpa on Tuesday.

Four persons died on the spot in a jeep accident at Shreedada of Dovan VDC-4 of the district on Monday night. Jasbir Bakabal, 40, of Dovan-2; Min Bahadur Thapa, 30, of the same place, Harin Bahadur Rana, 49, and Yam Bahadur Rana, 26, lost their lives. Fifteen others were injured in the accident.
In another accident, a bus in route to Burtibang of Gulmi from Butwal hit a motorcyclist coming from the opposite direction killing the motorist. The deceased has been identified as Sangeet Darnal, 18, of Yamgha VDC-8 of Palpa district, according to the District Police Office, Palpa. One bus passenger was also injured in the accident.
