KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Police Chief Rajunath Pandey has tendered his resignation, effective January 18. KMC Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) is also preparing to resign on the same date.

Pandey submitted his resignation to Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain.
KMC Mayor Shah is gearing up to contest the election from Jhapa Constituency-5, while Pandey is reportedly planning to enter the race from Kathmandu Constituency-4.
