KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Monday said efforts should continue from both sides to elevate the friendly relations between Nepal and Israel to a new level.
The remarks were made during a courtesy call by Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Ari Bass at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ Office in Singha Durbar on Monday afternoon.

During the meeting, Ambassador Bass congratulated Prime Minister Karki for making history as Nepal’s first woman prime minister and first woman chief justice, and extended best wishes for her successful tenure.
Prime Minister Karki expressed happiness that Nepal–Israel diplomatic relations have completed 65 years, and emphasised the need for continued efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Ambassador Bass described Nepal–Israel relations as cordial and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to deepening cooperation. He thanked the Government of Nepal for recently approving the labour migration agreement and its implementation protocols between the two countries, noting that the agreement would provide a legal framework for employment opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel.
Prime Minister Karki thanked the Israeli government for providing employment opportunities to Nepali citizens and said the current government’s top priority is the House of Representatives elections. She added that the government is committed to ensuring peaceful elections.
Both sides also stressed the importance of launching additional meaningful initiatives to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel.
