KATHMANDU, May 19: A tragic incident occurred in Gaidakot Municipality–4 of Nawalparasi (East) where an 11-year-old girl drowned in the Jayashree Bhange Khola while swimming on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 11-year-old Sajina Thapa, daughter of Manisha Thapa from Navadurga Tole, Gaidakot–1.

According to police, the girl went missing after suddenly drowning while swimming in the river. Local residents and police launched a search operation immediately after receiving the report.
Her body was later recovered from the river by a police team deployed from the District Police Office, Nawalparasi East.
Authorities have stated that necessary legal procedures are underway, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
