KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, the Acting Assistant Secretary for Global Public Affairs of the US Department of State, is going to visit Nepal.
Trudeau will arrive in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a 12-day visit to the UAE, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan along with Nepal.

According to a statement issued by the US State Department, Trudeau will participate in various programs against misinformation in Nepal. The USA has accused China and Russia of spreading disinformation about America's support in Afghanistan on issues of social equality, media freedom and climate.
During her visit to Nepal, Trudeau is said to hold a 'round table' interaction on misleading news and the role of the media in democracy. In addition, she is scheduled to meet with activists from minority groups and people from the communication sector.
After Nepal, Trudeau will visit the UAE, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
