KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Asif Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced the withdrawal of his candidacy from the closed proportional representation (PR) list for the upcoming elections.

Following singer Trishala Gurung’s withdrawal, Shah also took to social media to declare that he was withdrawing his candidacy. He stated that he wishes to be recognized more as someone committed to the country’s development than as an active politician.
Shah added that he had been included in the PR list at the request of friends while he was engaged in a nation-building campaign, and urged the leadership to address the demand positively to unite the party and move forward amid the current challenging political situation.
