KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has said that both those who accept bribes and those who offer them act against the nation.
Issuing a message on the occasion of National Unity Day, observed on Prithvi Jayanti, Shah shared the remark through social media on Sunday. Extending greetings to citizens, he stressed that corruption in any form undermines the country.

“Both the bribe-taker and the bribe-giver are enemies of the nation,” Shah wrote in his post, wishing people a happy National Unity Day.
Shah, who is also a proposed prime ministerial candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has frequently used social media to voice strong positions on governance, accountability, and corruption.
