KATHMANDU, July 24: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has filed a case at the Kathmandu District Court against eight individuals for allegedly embezzling around 29 ropanis of land belonging to Nepal Bal Mandir in Naxal.
The bureau has accused the eight, including the organization's then head of planning, of misusing Bal Mandir's land and government funds for personal gain.

Those named in the case are former Head of Planning and current Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 11 member Asha Shrestha, former Kathmandu District Committee Secretary Rajendra Kumar Shrestha, former Lalitpur District Committee Chairperson Om Krishna Karmacharya, former Chairperson Yuri Kumari Rai, former Treasurers Deepak Das Shrestha and Prayag Raj Shrestha, former Chairperson Bhagwan Shakya and former Adviser Ram Krishna.
Among the eight accused, Asha Shrestha, Rajendra Kumar Shrestha and Om Krishna Karmacharya have been arrested, while the remaining five are absconding.
The case is based on the findings of the high-level inquiry commission formed in 2077 BS and a subsequent police investigation.
