Effigies of NC Prez and VP burned in Kanchanpur for denying ticket to Lekhak

Supporters of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak burned effigies of NC President Gagan Thapa and VP Bishwa Prakash Sharma in Kanchanpur-3 after Lekhak was denied a party ticket.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Effigies of Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa and Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma were burned in Kanchanpur constituency no. 3 by supporters of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who was denied a party ticket.



The protest took place in Dodhara–Chandani, with Lekhak’s supporters expressing their anger over the decision.

Lekhak has previously contested elections from the same constituency and won a seat in the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) elections.


The party has nominated Hari Bohara as its candidate from the constituency this time.
