KATHMANDU, May 29 : The exchange rate of the US dollar remained unchanged against the Nepali rupee on Thursday, while the values of the British pound, euro, and several other foreign currencies declined.
According to the latest foreign exchange rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank, one US dollar was being bought at Rs 152.81 and sold at Rs 153.41, unchanged from the previous day.
The Japanese yen and Saudi Arabian riyal also remained largely stable. The selling rate of 10 Japanese yen stood at Rs 9.62, while the Saudi riyal was being sold at Rs 40.88.
Meanwhile, the euro weakened slightly, with the buying rate falling to Rs 177.44 from Rs 177.84, while the selling rate dropped to Rs 178.13 from Rs 178.54. The British pound also declined, with the buying rate decreasing to Rs 204.77 and the selling rate to Rs 205.58.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar was being bought at Rs 108.76 and sold at Rs 109.19, while the Canadian dollar stood at Rs 110.31 for buying and Rs 110.75 for selling. The Singapore dollar was valued at Rs 119.42 for buying and Rs 119.88 for selling.
The Chinese yuan slightly increased to Rs 22.54 for buying and Rs 22.63 for selling. The Qatari riyal was being traded at Rs 41.96 for buying and Rs 42.12 for selling.
Similarly, the UAE dirham stood at Rs 41.60 for buying and Rs 41.77 for selling, while the Malaysian ringgit was priced at Rs 38.41 and Rs 38.56 respectively.
Among Gulf currencies, the Kuwaiti dinar remained one of the highest-valued currencies, with a buying rate of Rs 498.24 and a selling rate of Rs 500.20. The Bahraini dinar was selling at Rs 406.90, while the Omani riyal stood at Rs 398.46.
The exchange rates are determined daily by Nepal Rastra Bank and may vary slightly in commercial banks.
