Journalist accompanying Balen airlifted to Kathmandu after he suddenly loses consciousness

Journalist Dinesh Sitoula, who was travelling with RSP leader Balen Shah, was airlifted to Kathmandu after collapsing during a Sudurpaschim tour in Achham.

KATHMANDU: Journalist Dinesh Sitoula, who was accompanying senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balen Shah on a Sudurpaschim tour, has been airlifted to Kathmandu after he suddenly lost consciousness.



Sitoula collapsed while getting out of a vehicle during a tea stop at around 9:30 AM on the way to Mangalsen, Achham. The vehicle had stopped near the residence of RSP’s Achham candidate Bhoopa Dev Shah.

He was first taken to Achham District Hospital, where doctors said his condition was critical and advised immediate transfer to Kathmandu.


Sitoula was flown from Achham to Surkhet by a Nepal Army helicopter and later transported to Kathmandu on a Nepal Army aircraft.
