Trapped in silence: Nepal’s deaf community struggles without interpreters
With only around 131 interpreters for over 50,000 deaf individuals, many are left without basic communication in health, legal and public services. While local initiatives and digital tools show promise, progress is slow, underfunded and uneven—especially in rural areas.
The event will take place at the National Assembly Hall on Exhibition Road, Kathmandu, and will focus on the manifesto unveiled under the leadership of party President Gagan Thapa.
