KATHMANDU, March 26: The Nepali Congress has set the stage for its 15th General Convention, unveiling a detailed roadmap that charts the party’s organizational buildup over the next six months.
A meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) on Wednesday decided to hold the convention from October 2 to 5, promptly making the timetable public.

According to the party's Central Office acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal, the party will launch a nationwide drive to distribute and update active memberships by mid-April. Membership forms will be sent from the center to ward levels, while representatives will be mobilized across all 165 constituencies.
From April 14 to May 15, the party will carry out membership distribution and renewal across all 6,743 wards, with individuals required to update their membership from their respective wards.
The schedule also lays out a strict verification process. Complaints filed at district-level preliminary committees must be reviewed and forwarded to the center by mid-June, with the central body setting June 29 as the deadline to settle all membership-related issues.
The updated list of active members must reach the Central Election Committee by mid-July. The party has decided to hand over the final, president-certified list before formally kicking off the convention process.
Moving into the electoral phase, ward conventions will conclude by August 18, alongside the selection of regional representatives. Municipal conventions are slated for August 23, followed by provincial constituency conventions and district conventions in single-constituency districts on September 2. District conventions will then take place on September 18 and 19, paving the way for the main convention in early October.
