RSP Chair Lamichhane calls for impartial probe into Sunsari violence

KATHMANDU, July 28:  Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has expressed deep concern over the recent violence in Sunsari and other eastern districts, saying the incidents have left the entire party shocked and saddened.



In a statement issued on Tuesday, Lamichhane urged the public, civil society leaders, and all stakeholders to refrain from any activities that could undermine social harmony. He also appealed to the people not to be swayed by rumors or provocation and to exercise maximum restraint.

He said the party has been coordinating with the government and local administration to help restore peace and security, protect lives and property, and normalize the situation.


Lamichhane called on the government to conduct an impartial investigation into the incidents, ensure strict legal action against those responsible, and provide justice, compensation, and free medical treatment to the victims.


He also urged all political parties not to politicize the incidents and instructed RSP’s local committees to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and communal harmony.
