SAPTARI, July 7: The Saptari District Court has slapped a three-month imprisonment on a school teacher for his involvement in sexually abusing his female student. He was also fined Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 in compensation to the victim for the offense.
A single bench of district judge Pramesh Pokharel ruled against Bode Basain, 40, who teaches at Janata Primary School at Surunga Municipality-2 in the district. He has been convicted for sexually abusing his 14-year-old girl student.
Three arrested for sexually abusing Raute women
Another teacher Ram Krishna Yadav, who was also accused of the sexual abuse, was given a clean chit.
On 9 June, 2018, the victims filed a report in the Area Police Office, Kadarbona claiming that the teachers in question sexually abused her for a long time. Acting on the complaint, the District Police Office arrested a person. However, he was released on a bail of Rs 65,000. Similarly, another accused Ram Krishna was also released on a bail of Rs 65,000.
