Shree SitaRam Secondary School, South Korea's Sun Moon University sign MoU on academic cooperation

KATHMANDU, July 11: Shree SitaRam Secondary School in Nagarjun Municipality-6 and South Korea's Sun Moon University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding academic cooperation between the two institutions.



The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at Nagarjun Municipality Hall in the presence of Acting Mayor Sushila Adhikari, Ward Chair Devendra Raj Giri, municipal officials, school representatives and a delegation from Sun Moon University led by Prof. Cho Eun Yi.


Following the signing ceremony, the university delegation inaugurated the school's newly constructed canteen and held discussions with school and municipal officials on future collaboration.

According to a press release issued by Sun Moon University, the partnership will focus on student and teacher exchanges, capacity building, research collaboration and promoting quality education. The university said the agreement is expected to connect the community school with international academic networks and expand learning opportunities for students and teachers.


The press release said various activities—including technical and creative arts sessions, health awareness programs, sports, career counseling, and Korean language and cultural classes—were organized for students as part of the visit.


The university also introduced its "Global Community" international volunteer program, under which a 28-member team of students and staff from South Korea will work with the municipality and local schools on educational support, leadership development, community service and cultural exchange, according to the press release.


The program will also feature Korean language instruction, sports training, health camps, tree plantation drives and cultural exchange activities. The university said the initiative aims to foster leadership, creativity and social responsibility among students while strengthening educational and cultural ties between Nepal and South Korea.


The school also honored individuals and organizations for their contributions to its academic and physical development during the event.
