KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Ishwar Pokhrel, a contender for the post of CPN-UML chairman, has stated that he is vying for the top post to advance the party based on rules, procedures and collective leadership.
Speaking to journalists on Monday at the convention centre in Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, Pokhrel emphasized that his entry into the electoral race aims to make the party more organized and efficient. He noted that internal competition has long been a part of UML’s history, even during its underground period, and should be viewed as a natural and healthy process in the current open multiparty democratic environment.
