KATHMANDU, April 6: Women leaders of the CPN-UML have filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, raising concerns over a rise in cyberbullying targeting adolescent girls.
A total of 18 women lawmakers, including UML Secretary and House of Representatives member Padma Kumari Aryal and central committee member and National Assembly member Ram Kumari Jhakri, submitted a written complaint at the bureau in Bhotahiti.

The complaint states that adolescent girls are increasingly becoming victims of cyberbullying, abuse, degrading behavior, hate speech, and offensive remarks across social media and other virtual platforms.
It warns that such actions are taking a serious toll on their self-esteem, mental health, and sense of social security.
The lawmakers have called for swift and effective investigation into such cases, along with immediate protection and justice for the victims.
