KATHMANDU, July 22: The Ministry of Urban Development has stated that preparations are underway to hold the upcoming winter session of the Federal Parliament in the new parliament building.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the ministry on Monday, spokesperson Narayan Mainali said the directive to ensure the winter session is conducted from the new building has already been received.

While presenting the ministry's key targets for the fiscal year 2025/26, Mainali confirmed that work is progressing in line with the timeline set for completion.
Director General of the Department of Building Construction, Machakaji Maharjan, said the construction contractors have been instructed to adjust their schedules accordingly and the project deadline has been extended.
“We are closely monitoring the construction work,” Maharjan said.
