KATHMANDU, July 14: Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav left here for Qatar this afternoon.
He embarked on a three-day official visit to Qatar to pay tributes and extend condolences over the demise of former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on the behalf of the government of Nepal.
'Qatar supports Visit Nepal 2020 Year initiative'
Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina, saw off Vice-President Yadav at the VIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport. Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other high-ranking officials were also present on the occasion.
During his visit to Qatar, VP Yadav is scheduled to hand over a condolence message sent by President Paudel to Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on July 15, according to the Foreign Ministry.
High-ranking officials of the government are also in the delegation led by VP Yadav. The delegation would return home on July 16.
