KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The body of Bipin Joshi from Kanchanpur, who was taken hostage and subsequently killed following Hamas’s attack in Israel, is being brought to Nepal today.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his body will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu this afternoon via a Fly Dubai flight. Joshi, who had gone to Israel for study, was caught in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. He was held captive for two years before his fate was confirmed.

On October 13 this year, following a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israeli authorities confirmed his death. After the truce, Hamas handed over his body to the Israeli army and DNA and forensic tests confirmed that he had been killed during the initial attack.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki, ministers and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are scheduled to be present at the airport today to pay tribute to Joshi.
