At the interaction on ´Role of adventure sports tourism in Nepal Tourism Year 2011´, Pandey also floated the idea of organizing events like static balloon at the Everest base camp and Annapurna region.
Basanta Mishra, immediate past president of Nepal Association of Tour Operators, said it was high time adventure sports tourism symposium is organized to highlight Nepal´s tourism potential among international visitors. He also called for inviting prominent adventure sports personalities in the country to tap its potential.
During the interaction, all the participants had expressed opinion for organizing and promoting more adventure sports in NTY 2011. ASTS had organized events like Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, Paragliding Championship and sky diving in the past.
