BAGLUNG, Aug 19: A girl died after being swept away in floodwaters here on Sunday evening.
The District Police Office, Baglung identified the victim as Sharmila Pariyar, the eight-year-old daughter of Buddhi Bahadur Pariyar of Thamka of Badigad rural municipality-7.

She suffered a tragedy while she was on the way home after school. She was walking on a motorable road when she was swept away by rushing waters amidst a torrential rain.
Her dead body was retrieved from some 500 meters down from the incident site, District Police Office Baglung Chief Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Bhatta.
The girl was a second-grader at the local Danfepatal Basic School.
