KATHMANDU, Jan 21: TikTok has removed more than 2.8 million videos from Nepal within a three-month period for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the third quarter of 2025.
The report, which covers data from July to September 2025, outlines TikTok’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe digital environment for its users by proactively identifying and removing harmful content. TikTok said these measures are aimed at providing a positive experience for users worldwide.
During the three-month period, a total of 2,829,612 videos were removed in Nepal for breaching community standards. TikTok reported a proactive removal rate of 99.7 percent, with 98 percent of the videos taken down within 24 hours of upload.

Globally, TikTok removed 204.5 million videos during the same quarter, accounting for around 0.7 percent of all uploaded content on the platform. Of the total removed videos, 186.6 million were detected and taken down through automated detection technologies, while 8.95 million videos were restored following further review.
The platform recorded a global proactive removal rate of 99.3 percent, with 94.8 percent of flagged content removed within 24 hours.
To maintain platform integrity, TikTok also removed 118.6 million fake accounts during the reporting period. In addition, 22.2 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13 were taken down.
According to the report, 30 percent of the removed videos contained sensitive or adult content that violated TikTok’s content policies. Another 15.7 percent breached safety and civility standards, while 2.7 percent violated privacy and security guidelines. Meanwhile, 32.9 percent of the videos were flagged for misinformation, and 34.4 percent were identified as edited or AI-generated content.
TikTok said the regular publication of its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report enhances transparency by clearly outlining the scale and nature of content and account moderation actions. The company added that more details on the report, content policies, tools, and enforcement measures are available through its Transparency Center.
