KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has summoned Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Swagat Nepal for questioning over sensitive remarks he made on social media.
Police contacted him by phone, and he has agreed to appear at the office in a few days. Currently, he is outside the Kathmandu Valley for election-related activities.

SP Deepkaraj Awasthi clarified that the summons concerns a minor issue. “Since the elections are underway, we want to prevent any escalation. That is why he has been called in—to remind him to exercise responsibility on social media,” SP Awasthi said.
The move follows remarks by the Jhapa-2 candidate suggesting that the Nepali Army should intervene to establish a civilian government.
Earlier, Nepal had referenced King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who unified Nepal, saying he would not hesitate to take strong action against anyone attempting to harm or divide the country.
