Foreign Ministry briefs ministers on diplomatic code of conduct and foreign affairs

KATHMANDU, April 8: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has briefed all ministers of the government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah on foreign affairs and diplomatic code of conduct.



The presentation was delivered by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai during a programme held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, according to the Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Dipa Dahal.

During the session, Secretary Rai presented an overview of the international environment, Nepal’s international relations, the promotion of national interests, and the country’s overall foreign policy.


He also explained the procedures, limitations and diplomatic norms that must be followed while conducting foreign policy. The presentation emphasized Nepal’s foreign policy priorities, the need to maintain balance in international relations, and the technical aspects of diplomatic protocol.


Ministers were also briefed on essential diplomatic practices, including general etiquette and mandatory protocols to be followed during meetings with foreign officials.
