KATHMANDU, June 5: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Thursday issued a special heat wave bulletin, urging residents in 14 districts across Nepal's southern plains to remain on high alert as temperatures continue to rise.
The MFD called for precautionary measures in 14 districts and advised people in another seven districts to closely monitor weather updates as hot conditions are expected to persist over the coming days.

Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini said some plains areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to record maximum temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius or higher over the next three days.
Temperatures have already reached extreme levels, with Bhairahawa recording 41°C and Nepalgunj 40°C on Thursday, according to the MFD.
The division also warned of moderate heat-wave conditions in parts of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces over the next three days, raising concerns about potential health risks from prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
The MFD has urged the public to take necessary precautions, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated and remain updated on weather advisories as heat conditions intensify across the country.
