KATHMANDU, May 27: LG Electronics, in partnership with CG Electronics, has launched a new lineup of DualCool Inverter Residential Air Conditioners (RAC) in Nepal, introducing smart energy-management features aimed at helping households reduce electricity consumption and cooling costs.

According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, the new air conditioners were unveiled during an event at Vivanta Kathmandu in the presence of Chaudhary Group Managing Director Nirvana Chaudhary.

A key highlight of the new lineup is LG’s “kW Manager” technology, which allows users to monitor and manage electricity usage more efficiently amid rising energy costs and progressive electricity tariffs in Nepal.

The feature enables users to set electricity usage limits and operating periods, monitor real-time power consumption through LG ThinQ connectivity, receive alerts for excessive usage, and optimise cooling performance based on consumption patterns.

LG said the system is designed to maintain cooling comfort while helping households avoid unexpected increases in electricity bills.

The newly launched models also feature Dual Inverter Compressor technology, which the company claims can save up to 70 percent energy and provide 40 percent faster cooling compared to non-inverter air conditioners.

The air conditioners additionally include a “Freeze Clean” function designed to improve indoor air hygiene. The feature removes dust and bacteria accumulated inside the unit by freezing impurities on the evaporator and flushing them out as the ice melts.

According to the company, the technology can remove up to 99 percent of residual bacteria from the evaporator under tested conditions.

To improve durability in Nepali conditions, the models come equipped with Gold Fin+ anti-corrosion coating, 100 percent copper tubes, and stabilizer-free operation aimed at handling voltage fluctuations.

Speaking at the launch, CG Electronics General Manager Gaurab Hamal said the new technology would help consumers gain better control over household electricity expenses while improving energy efficiency.

LG Electronics is a global consumer electronics and home appliance company, while CG Electronics, a part of CG Corp Global, is the authorised distributor of LG products in Nepal.
