Lumbini Province leads on capital expenditure, utilizing 23.47 percent in six months

Lumbini Province led in terms of the capital expenditure, with the provincial government utilizing 18.04 percent of the development budget in the first six months of the current Fiscal Year (FY).

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Lumbini Province led in terms of the capital expenditure, with the provincial government utilizing 18.04 percent of the development budget in the first six months of the current Fiscal Year (FY).



Lumbini Province allocated Rs 23.47 billion under the heading for FY 2025/26, while it spent Rs 4.23 billion between mid-July 2025 and mid-January 2026. In contrast, Madhesh Province stood at the lowest by utilizing only 3.36 percent of the allocated amount of Rs 30.26 billion.

Likewise, Gandaki Province spent 14.13 percent, Koshi Province 9.96 percent, Bagmati Province 8.99 percent, Karnali Province 7.90 percent and Sudurpashchim Province spent 5.08 percent of the allocated amount under capital expenditure.


On an average, seven province governments made capital expenditure of 9.33 percent. Of the allocated amount of Rs 171.17 billion, they utilized Rs 15.96 billion during the review period.
