MORANG, May 26 : A woman who had been missing for four days was found dead on the bank of the Bakraha River in Urlabari, Morang, on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the body was discovered in a grass-covered area near the London Bridge along the river in Urlabari Municipality-1. Police identified the deceased as 43-year-old Sabita Kandangwa Limbu of Laxmijhar, Urlabari-1.
Four girls missing from Morang for four days
Sabita, who worked as a tailor in Urlabari, had been missing since Saturday, May 23. Locals spotted the body while grazing buffaloes and informed police at around 7:45 am, according to DSP Santosh Shrestha, spokesperson for Morang Police.
A police team led by Inspector Nabin Wali from the Area Police Office, Urlabari, has begun an investigation. Police said the body was found swollen and lying face down.
The victim’s husband, Dil Bahadur Limbu, identified the body based on the clothes she was wearing. Police said the victim’s maternal relatives in Terhathum have also been informed and requested that the body not be moved until they arrive.
Police said the cause of death has not yet been determined and further investigation is underway. Preliminary investigation shows Sabita had left home on Saturday morning without informing family members.
