KATHMANDU, April 8: A corruption case has been filed at the Special Court against Dhundiraj Dahal, an accounts officer at Bir Hospital, after he was previously arrested with bribe money.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) lodged the case on Wednesday, claiming Dahal committed an offense under Section 3 (1) of the Corruption Prevention Act, 2002.

According to CIAA Assistant Spokesperson Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari, the commission has sought the recovery of Rs 93,850 from Dahal as the amount involved in the corruption case. The commission has also demanded imprisonment in accordance with the same legal provision.
Dahal, a resident of Bode in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality–9 of Bhaktapur, was arrested last October with Rs 120,850 in bribe money.
He has been accused of demanding bribes from supplier companies and contractors while processing payments for bills that were otherwise due to be paid according to regulations. Acting on this information, a CIAA team deployed for the operation arrested him red-handed with the bribe amount.
