KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Nepali Congress (NC) rival faction leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has held discussions with leaders close to him to end the internal deadlock and set a schedule for the regular general convention. The meeting took place Friday morning amid growing disputes within the party over the convention dates.

Dr Koirala held the meeting at the liaison office in Bishalnagar with Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Deputy General Secretaries Jeeban Pariyar and Badri Pandey. Thapa, who supports a special general convention, did not attend Thursday’s Central Working Committee meeting.
